The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Friday it has "no reservations" with Chrysler Group's plans to recall the vehicles. The agency is expected to release a report on its investigation in a few weeks.
The decision ends an unusually public struggle between Chrysler and NHTSA. The agency asked Chrysler to recall 2.7 million Jeeps last June, contending that their gas tanks which are positioned behind the rear axle were at risk of rupturing and catching fire in rear-end crashes. Involved were Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 1993 to 2004 model years and Liberty SUVs from 2002 to 2007.
Chrysler initially refused to recall the vehicles. The company said the rate of fuel leaks and fires after crashes was similar to comparable vehicles that were sold during the time in question. It was the first time in two years that an automaker had refused NHTSA's request for a recall.

Campus Crest Communities (CCG) operates 33 student housing properties comprising 6,324 apartment units under its rovebrand name. It a REIT, so it distributes a minimum of 90% of taxable income as a common dividend of roughly 6%, which may even attract other investors. Campus Crest carries $225 million in debt and services it at a rate of about 5%. The company came into its own in 2012, as it reported solid EBITDA of $16.5 million and a profit after debt service and preferred stock payments, which it just started that year.

2013 is panning out to be a rough year for Campus Crest Communities (CCG) -- shares of the small-cap student housing REIT have slid 12.7% since the calendar flipped over to January. While that sounds bad enough as it is, it's actually 31% underperformance vs. the S&P 500. And a quick glance at the chart makes it pretty clear to see why.
CCG is stuck in a textbook downtrend right now, bouncing between trendline resisatnce to the upside and a parallel support level below. You don't have to be an expert technical analyst to figure out where CCG's high probability price action is from here; it's down. Trendline resistance has acted as a ceiling for shares on the last four tests in 2013 and with shares hitting their head on that resistance level this week, now's the optimal time to sell (or short) this REIT.
If you're looking for an opportunity to buy CCG, you could be in for a long wait. But the 50-day moving average has been a pretty good proxy for resistance since the start of the summer. I'd recommend waiting for that line to get broken before even thinking about doing anything but selling this stock. Until then, it's toxic.

Yesterday, small cap medical robotics stock MAKO Surgical Corp (NASDAQ: MAKO) soared 82.19% after it was announced that Stryker Corporation (NYSE: SYK) would acquire itmeaning it might be time to take a closer look at large cap medical robotics leader Intuitive Surgical, Inc (NASDAQ: ISRG) along with small caps Accuray Incorporated (NASDAQ: ARAY) and Hansen Medical, Inc (NASDAQ: HNSN). MAKO Surgical Corpmarkets both its RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System and proprietary RESTORIS family of implants to surgeons for a procedure called MAKOplastythat provides a less invasive method for knee resurfacing and a new procedure for Total Hip Arthroplasty.Stryker Corporation, whose medical technologies include reconstructive, medical and surgical, and neurotechnology and spine products, agreed to pay $1.65 billion or $30 a share for a massive 86%premium for MAKO Surgical Corp. That sounds great for investors unless you are an investor who go in the stock back in 2011 and early 2012 when shares hit as high as the$43 level.

While billed as a rival to America's Intuitive Surgical (NASDAQ: ISRG ) , Mazor actually bears closer resemblance to tiny Hansen Medical (NASDAQ: HNSN ) . Lacking profits despite raking in nearly $15 million in revenues last year, Mazor doesn't generate positive free cash flow like Intuitive does. Instead, it burns it like Hansen does (albeit more slowly). Last year, negative free cash flows amounted to $2.1 million, which suggests that Wallachbeth's endorsement may be a bit premature.

One health care player that insiders are active in here is Hansen Medical (HNSN), which develops, manufactures and markets new generation of medical robotics for accurate positioning, manipulation and stable control of catheters and catheter-based technologies. Insiders are buying this stock into relative weakness, since shares are off by 19.2% so far in 2013.
Hansen Medical has a market cap of $113 million and an enterprise value of $118 million. This stock trades at a premium valuation, with a price-to-sales of 7.13. Its estimated growth rate for this year is -3%, and for next year it's pegged at 36.2%. This is not a cash-rich company, since the total cash position on its balance sheet is $21.08 million and its total debt is $29.57 million.
A beneficial owner just bought 8.1 million shares, or about $9.96 million worth of stock, at $1.23 per share.
From a technical perspective, HNSN is currently trending above its 50-day and just below is 200-day moving average, which is neutral trendwise. This stock recently spiked up sharply from its low of $1.14 to its recent high of $1.96 a share with big upside volume. Since that move, shares of HNSN have pulled back and started to consolidation between $1.77 and $1.60 a share. This stock is now starting to bounce higher and move within range of triggering a near-term breakout trade.
If you're bullish on HNSN, then look for long-biased trades as long as this stock is trending some key near-term support levels at $1.60 to its 50-day at $1.51, and then once it breaks out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $1.77 to $1.96 a share high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average volume of 530,653 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then HNSN will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels at $2.15 to $2.23 a share. Any high-volume move above those levels will then gi

Small cap robotic stock Adept Technology (NASDAQ: ADEP) has put in a very good performance this month verses its immediate peeriRobot Corporation (NASDAQ: IRBT) as well as against medical robotic stocks like MAKO Surgical (NASDAQ: MAKO), Accuray Incorporated (NASDAQ: ARAY) and Hansen Medical, Inc (NASDAQ: HNSN). I should also mention that we have recently added Adept Technology to our SmallCap Network Elite Opportunity (SCN EO) portfolio (we are up 9% since last week) because we feel robotics is an improving sector as companies aim to reduce overhead and improve efficiencies through machine to machine (M2M) automation.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Jonas Elmerraji]
Today, we're starting small with Martin Midstream Partners (MMLP), a $1.2 billion firm that transports and stores natural gas and sulfur. Shares of MMLP have had a stellar year in 2013, rallying more than 47% since the calendar flipped over to January -- and this stock's technicals point to even higher ground in the second half.
That's because MMLP is currently forming an ascending triangle pattern, a technical setup that's formed by horizontal resistance above shares at $46 and uptrending support to the downside. Basically, as MMLP bounces in between those two technical price levels, it's getting squeezed closer and closer to a breakout above that $46 resistance level. When that breakout happens, we've got a buy signal for shares.
Confirmation is going to be important to watch in MMLP. This stock has popped above $46 intraday in the past, only to fall back down to close within the pattern. Waiting for a close above $46 followed by a consecutive open above it greatly reduces the possibility of a bull trap in this stock.

This mega-trend is hardly news, and it can be played from all angles. One especially promising option: Martin Midstream Partners (MMLP).
This master limited partnershipcleans up, stores and transports gas — essentially collecting a “toll” on the gas that passes through its pipelines, then passing most of that toll along to shareholders per its MLP status. The current result of that setup: a mouth-watering 6.7% yield.

The role of the barge can't be underestimated. Barge receipts increased more than two percentage points year over year, and this is a great place for investors to look for opportunity. Companies with maritime resources benefit from this trend, as well as growth in exports. Three such companies that are worth a look are:
Kirby Corporation (NYSE: KEX ) , which operates 30% of the coastal tank barges in the U.S. Oiltanking Partners (NYSE: OILT ) , which has storage capacity of 12.1 million barrels and six deepwater docks on the Houston Ship Channel Martin Midstream Partners (NASDAQ: MMLP ) , which operates a large fleet of inland barges and controls 31 marine terminalsThese companies won't be the only winners, but they are a good place to start your research.
